Niall Scanlon is the Border AI Innovation Strategy Lead at HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). He leads the development of HMRC’s strategy for prioritising and testing opportunities to leverage AI to enhance UK border processes. Niall also led the Ecosystem of Trust pilots for HMRC, collaborating with six industry-led consortia to explore how data, technology, and trusted relationships can deliver significant benefits for both businesses and government at the border. Niall’s broader career background in trade and customs includes trade agreement negotiations, and implementation at the Department for Business and Trade.
