Niclas Gustafsson Swedish CustomsInternational coordinator - IT

Mr. Niclas Gustafsson is the chairperson for the World Customs Organization (WCO) Data Model Projects Team (DMPT) which main purpose is to develop, manage and maintain the WCO Data Model (DM) in order to give preconditions for and enhance global harmonization and interoperability from a cross border regulatory perspective. He has been an active delegate in WCO DMPT and other WCO forums for 20 years. Niclas is also Swedish Customs delegate in the WCO project, WCO Smart Customs which aims for collaboration between Customs administrations within the area of innovation and AI solutions. Mr. Niclas Gustafsson is international coordinator at the Swedish Customs IT Departments IT Strategy Unit. Besides his engagement in WCO he is a Swedish delegate in European Union (EU) Electronic Customs Coordination Group (ECCG) where coordination of implementing IT-systems for the EU Customs Code are handled. Mr. Niclas Gustafsson has been working with creating IT Solutions to support and optimize business both in private and the public sector for 26 years working with Customs declaration systems for Swedish Customs since 2006. Niclas holds a university degree of Master of Science in System Development and Software Engineering from The University of Technology in Luleå, Sweden.
