Nelson Brens
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the Technological University of Santiago - UTESA, authorized as a Certified Public Accountant under Decree 167-93. He holds a Master’s Degree in Senior Management with a concentration in Finance from the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo – INTEC. Authorized Customs Broker under Resolution 402-97 from August 1997. Throughout his professional career, he has held various guild positions, including: Financial Director, Executive Vice President, Head of Interinstitutional Relations, and International Relations of the Dominican Association of Customs Brokers – ADAA. He served as President of the Dominican Association of Customs Brokers – ADAA from 2016 to 2018, and as Vice President for the term 2022–2024. He assumed the Vice Presidency of the Central America and Caribbean Region of the International Association of Professional Customs Brokers – ASAPRA for the term 2021–2022, during which significant achievements were made for the profession and for our national organization. In December 2022, he was elected President of ASAPRA for the period 2022–2025, leading the Board of Directors with a work plan based on the following key pillars: • Institutional strengthening in technical, legal, technological, organizational, and administrative areas. • Strengthening cooperation ties with related institutions, guilds, and associations. • Identification, formulation, evaluation, and execution of projects to achieve institutional objectives. • Expanding international academic exchange through agreements between universities and technical institutes. • Designing and executing work strategies to foster better development of the Association's activities.
