Dr Cristiano Morini has a unique professional background combining the public and private sectors. In the public sector, he worked at the Ministry of Justice, in Brasilia, Brazil. In the private sector, he worked in the import and export processes in the logistics department. Since 2012, Dr Morini has been a full-time professor at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp), Brazil, where he became a Distinguished Teaching Professor in 2023. With over 40 academic papers published in peer-reviewed journals and proceedings, Dr. Morini has actively contributed to applied research, considering topics like trade facilitation, customs administration, and digital entrepreneurship. He has contributed to implementing the Brazilian Single Window as a consultant of the Interamerican Bank of Development to the Brazilian Government (2024), and he is actively involved with the Cross-Border Research Association (CBRA), Switzerland. He has participated in multiple professional and academic interactions and associations with frontline experts in many countries over the last 26 years. These roles likely allow him to bridge theory and practice, with an impact on society. Nowadays, he is leading a four-year research project for customs compliance public policy, founded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).
